What is Electrical Testing & Tagging?

The practice of electrical testing and tagging is the electrical safety inspection and testing of electrical appliances to the ASNZS 3760:2022. Appliance testing is mostly completed within general workplaces including offices, warehouse, mining and construction environments.  This is because ASNZS 3760 standard is recognised by the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022(WHS). This makes electrical testing and tagging a requirement in all workplaces to adhere to the WHS Standards.

Once an appliance has been tested, it must be tagged with a tag that identifies both the test date and retest date of the appliance. The tag must also identify who tested the appliance and an asset ID which can be referenced to a report that includes the full test results of that asset. These are all a requirement as per the ASNZS 3760 (2022) standard for testing and tagging.
