Every plug-in appliance is visually inspected, electrically tested and tagged with the test date, the technician and the date it falls due again. Results go straight into a digital asset register you can hand to an auditor.
What is included
- Visual inspection of plug, lead, casing and switches
- Earth continuity and insulation resistance testing
- Leakage and polarity testing where applicable
- Durable tag applied to every item tested
- Digital report with pass and fail results, asset detail and retest dates
Typical interval
Three months on construction and demolition sites, six months in factories and workshops, twelve months in most offices and retail, set from Table 2.4 of the standard.
Who it is for
Any WA workplace with plug-in equipment, from a single office to a multi-site rollout.
-
Safety switches are only useful if they actually trip. We operate the integral test button on every fixed RCD, test each portable unit individually, and check the board itself for condition, access and whether you have enough devices for the circuits you are running.
What is included
- Push-button test operated twice per AS 3019 clause 4.2.2.6
- Visual switchboard inspection covering condition, access clearance and RCD quantity
- Individual testing of every portable RCD
- Digital report within 48 hours listing each device and its next due date
Typical interval
Every three months on construction and demolition sites, six months in factories and workshops, twelve months in commercial offices and retail.
Who it is for
Every WA workplace. Regulation 165 of the WHS Regulations 2022 puts the duty on the person conducting the business.
Operating time (injection) testing is not permitted in WA, so compliance testing is done by the integral test button.
-
Welders, compressors, commercial kitchen equipment, site boards and heavy leads are tested to the same standard as single phase gear, with the equipment and adaptors to handle 5 pin and 4 pin configurations on site.
What is included
- Visual inspection of plug, lead and casing
- Earth continuity and insulation resistance testing on three phase leads and equipment
- Testing of three phase RCDs and portable distribution boards where fitted
- Tagging and digital reporting in the same register as your single phase assets
Typical interval
Same intervals as single phase testing, set by the operating environment under Table 2.4.
Who it is for
Workshops, manufacturing, mine sites, commercial kitchens, and event or hire equipment fleets.
-
Microwave ovens are the one appliance where a standard test and tag will not tell you whether it is safe. We measure radiation leakage with a calibrated digital tester and record the reading, so a failing door seal is caught before anyone is exposed to it.
What is included
- Leakage measurement with a calibrated digital microwave leakage tester
- Full electrical safety inspection of the unit
- Door seal, hinge and catch condition check
- Tag showing the reading and the test date
- Pass or fail recorded against the asset in your report
Typical interval
Usually annually, scheduled alongside your test and tag visit.
Who it is for
Offices and staff kitchens, cafes and restaurants, medical facilities, and any site where an oven gets heavy daily use.
-
Mains power is disconnected and every exit sign and emergency luminaire is monitored for the full 90 minutes, which is the only way to prove the batteries will still be lighting the way out at the end of an evacuation rather than the start of one.
What is included
- 90 minute discharge test with the mains supply disconnected
- Check of every exit sign and emergency luminaire on site
- Unique asset ID on each fitting so faults can be tracked over time
- Failures documented with location and fault detail
- Battery, lamp and fitting replacements quoted before any work proceeds
Typical interval
Every six months.
Who it is for
Any building required to have emergency lighting, including offices, schools, warehouses and multi-tenanted sites.
-
Portable fire equipment is serviced on the AS 1851 schedule and tagged with what was done and when it is next due. Placement is checked against AS 2444 at the same time, because an extinguisher in the wrong spot is a finding as surely as an unserviced one.
What is included
- Portable extinguishers: Level 1 six monthly, Level 2 annually, Level 4 five yearly
- Fire hose reels: Level 1 six monthly, Level 2 annually, to AS/NZS 1221
- Fire blankets: Level 1 assessment annually
- Placement and signage checked against AS 2444
- Hydrants, sprinklers and AS 1670 systems arranged through specialist partner contractors
- Compliance certificate issued within 48 hours
Typical interval
Six monthly as the baseline, with annual and five yearly services falling due on the same asset record.
Who it is for
Every commercial and industrial site in WA, and anyone whose insurer or lease requires evidence of fire equipment maintenance.
-
When an auditor, insurer or head contractor asks for “AS/NZS 3760 testing”, they mean in-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment. That is the standard our technicians work to on every job, at the current 2022 edition.
What is included
- Testing to the current 2022 edition of the standard, not a superseded one
- Retest intervals set from Table 2.4 for your actual operating environment
- Tags showing test date, next due date and the technician who performed the test
- An asset register in a format you can hand straight to an auditor
- A straight answer on what the standard does and does not require of you
Typical interval
Determined by environment, from three months on construction sites to five years for stationary low-risk equipment.
Who it is for
Anyone who has been handed a compliance requirement naming the standard and needs it satisfied and evidenced.
Delivered through our test and tag and 3 phase testing services.
-
Most businesses do not have a testing problem, they have a tracking problem: work gets done, then nobody can prove it or knows what is next due. We schedule the testing, keep one register across every site, and close each job with a certificate you can produce on request.
What is included
- Test and tag, RCD testing and three phase testing scheduled together in one visit
- One asset register across every site you operate
- Retest dates tracked so nothing quietly lapses
- Certificate of compliance issued at the end of every job
- An evidence pack ready for insurers, auditors and head contractors
Typical interval
Set to the shortest interval your equipment and environment require, then managed as a rolling schedule.
Who it is for
Businesses that need to prove compliance rather than just get testing done, and anyone juggling multiple sites or contractors.
Covers your duties under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA), the WHS (General) Regulations 2022 and the Electricity Regulations 1947.
-
Childcare centres, kindergartens and outside school hours services get asked for the same handful of records at assessment. We cover all of them in a single visit and return one report, rather than three contractors and three sets of paperwork.
What is included
- Test and tag of all plug-in equipment, including donated and staff-owned items
- RCD push-button testing across the centre
- Fire extinguisher and fire blanket servicing
- Exit and emergency lighting testing where installed
- One report and one certificate covering the whole visit
- Scheduling around nap times, closures and school holidays
Typical interval
Typically annually, aligned to your assessment and rating cycle.
Who it is for
Long day care, kindergartens, family day care venues and outside school hours care across Perth.
Need more than one of these? Most sites book test and tag, RCD testing and fire equipment servicing together on one visit, with one report and one certificate. Call (08) 6109 8591 or email admin@ptts.com.au.

WHY A FORMAL QUOTE?
Site access affects cost
High-rise, restricted or after-hours access changes the time and logistics of the job
Environment classification
AS/NZS 3760 sets different test intervals for construction, commercial and office environments, which affects scope.
Bundling saves money
Combining test & tag with RCD, fire, and emergency lighting in one visit reduces total cost vs separate bookings.
Volume discounts applied correctly
The more items we test in a single visit, the lower your per-item rate. A quote locks this in before we arrive.
